In the period from January 26, 2016 until September 26, 2016, Association for Democratic Initiatives (ADI) will, in cooperation with the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Republika Srpska, realize activities within the project “Together against Spread of Hate on Internet – Local Communities, Safe Communities”.
The main aim of the project is to prevent misuse of the internet through cooperation between institutions and civil society organizations, and thereby increase the safety for internet users – which mostly includes the youth population in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project encompasses a number of activities that aim to gain capacity for members of police and youth organizations in four regions in BiH. The aim of activities is to recognize, document and react on acts of hate speech and other cyber-crimes; increase the level of information provided to secondary school students about the consequences of spreading hate speech on the internet and other cyber-crimes; creating, testing and promoting mechanisms for reporting cases of hate speech on the internet and other cyber-crimes; establishing an unofficial network of actors who will together have an impact on the prevention of hate speech on the internet and other cyber-crimes.
The implementation period of the project: February 26, 2016 – September 26, 2016
The project is supported by the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH
