In Mostar, in the period February 05-07, 2009 the fourth training for representatives of professional associations in the field of justice (associations of judges, prosecutors, attorneys, notaries and mediators) was held. Participants of the training were representatives of the Ministry of Justice of BiH, FBiH and RS, and the aim was to form a focal group for strengthening the role of the association in the judicial sector reform process.
Fifteen representatives of associations and the Ministry of Justice of BiH had the opportunity to discuss the obstacles to their more active involvement in the reform process, and cooperation between associations and government institutions. FBiH Constitutional Court Judge Mr. Faris Vehabović outlined the process of drafting a strategy for judicial reform and suggested a proactive role that associations should play in the judiciary. Mr. Saša Madacki, Director of the Human Rights Center at the University of Sarajevo, outlined the current ways of networking in social networks and the elements that need to be elaborated when developing the Association’s Virtual Presence Strategy.
Ms. Nina Karađinović and Ms. Šejla Mujanović presented their individual research in the field of practical policy-making sponsored by the Open Society Fund.
