The founding meeting of the Network of Civil Society Organizations in the Justice Sector was held on January 22, 2010 in Sarajevo. 30 BiH civil society organizations, professional associations and non-governmental organizations had the opportunity to get acquainted with the activities that will be implemented under the USAID Justice Sector Development Project II. Civil society organizations exchanged information on their past and current activities, achievements, and visions for working together within the Network and on priority issues in the area of ​​the rule of law in BiH.

Representatives of the participating organizations in the Network concluded that diversity among organizations is good because it allows for an interdisciplinary approach and complementarity. Some of the identified areas in which civil society organizations want to work together in the future are access to justice, enhancing independence, accountability and efficiency of the judiciary, educating and informing the public about the role and work of the judiciary, and transitional justice.
