Coalition for the Fight against Hate Speech and Hate Crimes strongly condemns the incident that happened on May 7, 2016 in Višegrad, where several bullets were fired in the direction of Bakira Hasečić’s property.
The Coalition expects the police and judicial authorities to urgently investigate this incident and its motives, especially having in mind that Mrs. Hasečić is a war crime victim and witness committed in the Višegrad area, as well as the president of the “Women Victim of War” Association.
Coalition for the Fight against Hate Speech and Hate Crimes was established in January 2013, with the support of the OSCE and Civil Right Defenders. The main objective of the Coalition is to advocate for adequate regulation of hate speech and hate crimes in the criminal legislation of both entities and the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to harmonize criminal legislation.
