The main topic of the conference was the Law on free legal aid in Montenegro, access to legal aid, and access to public information in Montenegro and in the region. Participants of the conference were representatives of local civil society organizations in Montenegro which provide free legal aid to citizens. Additionally, successful and unsuccessful examples of provision of the legal aid were presented. It was concluded that the citizens are not well informed about the Law on free legal aid, access to free legal aid and realization of their rights.
After the conference, a Steering group meeting of member organizations of the Committee, i.e. organizations of the Western Balkans which are implementing the project, was held.
During the meeting, participants discussed the establishment of the Triple A Network, its role, and the standards of the Network. Furthermore, participants shared information about other funding possibilities and funding of the Network. Additional topics were discussed at the meeting, progress of Triple A project, Erasmus+ program, and the date of the next meeting.
The conference and Steering group meeting of the “Triple A for citizens – access to information, advice and active assistance” project were held at the PR Center in Podgorica, July 18, 2016. The conference was organized by the ECAS, and the local partner, the Centre for Monitoring and Research (CeMI) from Montenegro.
