USAID Justice Sector Development Project II (JSDP) organized today a presentation and peer review of detailed plans for 6 advocacy campaigns by NGOs that are members of the Justice Network, titled “Structured Dialogue of Civil Society Organizations and Institutions in BiH justice sector ”, which is financially supported by USAID.
As one of the organizations supported through the USAID JSDP II grant, the Association for Democratic Initiatives (ADI) presented its project “Better Justice Sector Reform through Monitoring by the Justice Network (UN UPP)” to representatives of the BiH judiciary, NGOs and donors, conducted in cooperation with the Human Rights Center of the University of Sarajevo and in partnership with the Center for Information and Legal Assistance Zvornik, the Association of Judges of BiH, the Federation of Prosecutors of FBiH, the Association for International Law, the Association of Expert Associates and Advisers in the Courts and Prosecutors’ Offices of BiH, and Association of Women to Women of BiH.
Elma Demir, Project Manager/Analyst at ADI in her presentation emphasized that the main objective of the project is to increase and exert democratic pressure from the public and civil society on decision makers to find solutions and take responsibility when it comes to judicial independence and more effective protection of human rights of citizens in the justice sector.
ADI will implement the mentioned project in cooperation with partners in the period from September 01, 2011 – April 30, 2012.
