On June 2, 2015, the Association for Democratic Initiatives (ADI) held public speaking in Trebinje as part of the project “Fighting against hate speech and hate crime”. Representatives of local NGOs and the media attended the public speaking. Director of ADI Snježana Ivandić Ninković presented to the participants the work of the organization and the activities that are being implemented within the previously mentioned project. In addition, participants were introduced to the terms “hate crime” and “hate speech” and how to act if an incident occurs. During the public speaking, they discussed how hate crimes can be distinguished and categorized, what is the difference between hate motivated incidents and hate crimes, how to distinguish them from other crimes and what are the mechanisms for collecting information.
The project is implemented with the financial assistance of the International Organization for the Protection of Human Rights Civil Rights Defenders.
