April 26, 2016 – Representative of the Association for Democratic Initiatives (ADI) participated at the meeting of the focus group and presentation of the preliminary draft rules for consultations in legislative drafting as well as the platform for electronic consultations. The goal of Web application eKonsultacije, as an online service for citizens and civil society organizations, is to enable direct participation in the consultation process and in legislative drafting at the state level. Web platform eKonsultacije provides an opportunity for constructive dialogue with institutions in the public legislative drafting process.

Mr. Josip Grubeša, the Minister of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated:

“In recent years, the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina has invested considerable effort to improve the system of transparency, cooperation and openness to citizens and civil society organizations. The crown of these efforts is a web platform “eKonsultacije”, which was developed with the expert support of the project “Capacity Building of Government Institutions to Participate in Dialogue with Civil Society” (CBGI), and is financed by the European Union.

It allows full and timely information for citizens and representatives of civil society organizations via Internet about the process of making certain legal documents. In addition, it provides reliable communication channel for participation in public policy. Ideas, suggestions and additional information collected in this way will be used for the improvement of public policies that are the responsibility of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
