In order to facilitate the early involvement of civil society organizations in the legislative process and to create a Parliamentary Register of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) of the FBiH Parliament, the application process in this database has begun.

The application process was initiated on Monday, April 22, 2013 in the full amphitheater of the FBiH Parliament, before the delegates and representatives of both chambers and in the presence of approximately sixty civil society organizations from all over BiH. After the introductory part of the ceremony, the register was presented to the attendees, as well as the process of applying of the Association for Democratic Initiatives (ADI) from Sarajevo to the NGO register.

The NGO Parliamentary Register was created in cooperation with the Federation of BiH Parliament with ADI and USAID’s Strengthening of Parliaments in BiH Project, which made it possible to create a software application for this database.

Applying to the Parliamentary Register of NGOs, through the websites of both Houses of the FBiH Parliament, will allow NGOs from across the country to have key information on their fields of interest and activities in the parliamentary database. With the help of this database, MPs and officials of the FBiH Parliament will have an overview of all the NGOs that have been notified. The purpose of this database is to enable MPs and officials of the FBiH Parliament to more easily select organizations as possible partners for cooperation in law-making, organizing public hearings and similar activities, in accordance with the recommendations of the Council of Europe and the Rules of Procedure of both Houses of the FBiH Parliament.
